Poker and Its Variants

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2009

Poker as played in 16th century and now, has undergone a great deal of transformation. A lot has been added to make the game even more interesting, and moreover, with changing times, the game has been given a professional touch altogether. In general sense, there are largely four main families of variants as per the norms of card dealing and betting protocols. These include, Straight, Stud, Draw and Community. Straight Poker is the oldest poker family, where a complete hand is dealt to every player out there, and the players bet in one round by raising and re-raising their hands. A popular three-card brag played during the time of American revolutionary war is a classic example of straight poker.
